Your inbox, already handled — before you open it.

Mailie Pro is a fast, hardened, end-to-end-encrypted email client, free. Switch on Mailie Mind and a language model running on your own phone reads the overnight mail, tells you what needs you and why, answers questions with a link to the message it came from, and drafts replies in your voice — without sending a word to anyone’s server.

Meet Mailie Mind

A real AI engine. On your phone. Never in the cloud.

The mainstream clients ship your inbox to a data centre to make it “smart”, then charge a subscription for the good parts. Mailie Mind is Mailie Pro’s own intelligence, running on the device in your hand — private, and yours. Free for your first 7 days, then a subscription.

Mailie Mind Advanced

A full language model, purpose-built to run in-process — no Play services, no account, no cloud. It sizes itself to your phone, taps a dedicated neural engine where your device has one, and speeds itself up on your graphics hardware, all on its own.

Learns how you work

Recategorise a message, send a reply, swipe away a newsletter — Mailie Mind quietly learns your labels, your people and your writing voice, so it fits you better every week. Every bit of it stays encrypted on the device.

Mailie Mind Index understands meaning

A multilingual engine turns your mail into on-device understanding, so search, find-similar and ask-your-inbox work by meaning rather than keywords — across 100+ languages, Arabic included. Search and find-similar stay free forever.

Every model, every vector, and everything it learns stays encrypted on your device. There is no server to send it to.

What sets it apart

Everything an inbox should be — and nothing it shouldn’t.

A focused look at what you’ll reach for every day. Every image below is the real app. The full catalogue lives on the features page.

01 The briefing

Open your inbox to a briefing, not a backlog.

Before your first coffee, Mailie Pro has read the overnight mail and written you a private executive briefing — a clear overview on top, then every conversation triaged into what needs you, what you promised, what you’re waiting on and what’s merely FYI. The attention lane is ordered by when things are actually due, and a seven-day rail shows what’s coming.

  • One synthesised sentence first, then the whole inbox in lanes
  • Grouped by deadline — overdue, today, this week — not just by rank
  • One-tap actions: add to calendar, track a package, call, snooze
  • Composed and fact-checked on your phone, never sent to a server

02 Ask your inbox

Ask a question. Get an answer you can check.

Type a question the way you’d say it — “any bills due?”, “where are my packages?”, “what did the lawyer ask for?” — and Mailie Pro retrieves the relevant messages and answers from them, with a numbered source on every line so you can tap straight to the email. Follow-up questions know what you were just talking about. All of it runs on your device.

  • Answers drawn only from your real mail, never from the model’s imagination
  • A citation on every line — verify it in one tap
  • Suggested questions adapt to what’s actually in your inbox
  • 100% on-device retrieval; your mailbox is never uploaded

03 Caught before you act

It notices the message that isn’t what it claims.

On-device heuristics read the sender, the domain and the language — in every one of the ten languages the app ships in — and say plainly when something claims to be one company but was sent from somewhere else. Trackers are blocked before they fire, mail can be sealed with OpenPGP or S/MIME, and a certificate that changes stops the connection instead of quietly continuing.

  • Phishing and scam warnings that name what they actually saw
  • Remote images blocked by default — the sender never learns you looked
  • A warning when a known contact’s mail stops resembling them
  • TLS 1.3 with pinning, encrypted DNS, optional SOCKS5 routing

The everyday details

And the things that make a day run smoothly.

Thoughtful touches you’ll reach for constantly — each one on-device and private, like the rest of the app.

  • The file drawer — Every attachment you have ever received, as searchable files — save, scan or read text from one without hunting for the email.
  • People — One page per person: everything they have sent you, whether you hold a key for them, and one-tap unsubscribe or block.
  • Snooze until they reply — Not a timer — the message comes back when the conversation actually moves.
  • Promises you made — Surfaces what you said you’d do, quoted from your own sent mail, once it goes quiet past its date.
  • While you were away — A briefing bounded by when you last looked, not by the calendar — so a week off doesn’t vanish.
  • Contacts & CardDAV — A real address book in the encrypted database, with vCard import and optional sync to your own server.
  • Search that admits its limits — Fast full-text search that tells you when there were more results than it showed.
  • Categories in the inbox — Your mail sorts itself into categories you can filter to and clear one at a time — on the inbox, not a screen apart.
  • Smart filters & mute — Turn one message into a rule that works by meaning — with a preview of what it would catch.
  • Priority topic alerts — Name a topic in any language and get alerted when mail about it arrives.
  • Calendar invites & RSVP — Accept, decline, or add to your calendar right from the message.
  • One-click unsubscribe — Leave a mailing list in a single tap — in-app, no browser detour.
  • Masked email aliases — Generate burner addresses through the masked-alias provider of your choice, so a signup never learns your real address.
  • Tablets & foldables — A navigation rail, your list and a detail pane that rests on the briefing.
  • Read aloud & voice — Listen to mail and dictate replies — on-device, opt-in, alongside full screen-reader support.
  • Home-screen widget — Your unread count always a glance away — with your latest briefing above it on a subscription.

How it compares

The mainstream clients moved their intelligence to the cloud.

Mailie Pro keeps it — and your mail — on your phone. Here’s an honest, current comparison of the Android apps, including the rows where the others win.

Mailie Pro compared with the Gmail, Outlook, Proton Mail and Thunderbird Android apps, as of July 2026. Each row states whether a capability is present, partial or absent.

How Mailie Pro is funded

You’re the customer — not the product.

Free email apps have to make money somehow, and it is usually your inbox: profiled for advertisers, or shipped to a data centre so it can be made “smart”. Mailie Pro takes neither path. There are no ads on any tier and nothing to sell, because nothing leaves your phone. A subscription pays for the engineering instead.

Funded by the people who use it, never by the people who want their data.

Nothing to sell

No telemetry leaves your device, and your mail only ever reaches the server you configured. That is true on the free tier and on every subscription alike — there is no data business here to fund.

No ads, on any tier

No banners, no “sponsored” messages, no inbox ads — not even in the free app. The free tier is a real, private mail client, not a trial that nags you into paying.

What a subscription buys

Running a language model, a semantic index and end-to-end encryption entirely on-device is real engineering with no server revenue behind it. Your subscription funds that work — and Google Play, never us, handles the payment.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Is Mailie Pro free?

Yes, and it stays free for as long as you like. The free tier is a complete mail client: up to three accounts, OpenPGP and S/MIME end-to-end encryption, TLS 1.3 with certificate pinning, a SQLCipher (AES-256) encrypted local database, tracker blocking and search-by-meaning — with zero telemetry and no ads. Mailie Mind, the on-device intelligence, is free for your first 7 days and then a subscription.

What does a subscription unlock, and what stays free?

A subscription unlocks Mailie Mind: the daily briefing, ask-your-inbox, summaries, smart categories, replies in your voice, compose and rewrite, on-device translation, pre-send checks, phishing and scam warnings, the file drawer, and unlimited accounts. Everything else is free forever and never held back — sending and receiving mail, every encryption and transport guarantee, tracker blocking, backup, and search and find-similar by meaning.

How much does it cost, and is the trial real?

The trial is 7 days, starts on first launch, takes no card and has nothing to cancel — when it ends you simply drop to the free tier. After that you can subscribe monthly or annually; the annual plan works out to about half the monthly price. Prices are set by Google Play for your country and shown in the app, so we do not quote a figure here that would be wrong everywhere else.

Does Mailie Pro send my email to the cloud for AI features?

No. Every Mailie Mind feature — the briefing, summaries, smart replies, ask-your-inbox, semantic search and translation — runs on your device. The language model is loaded into the app’s own isolated process and executed on your hardware. Your mail and your prompts never leave the phone, and nothing you do trains anyone else’s model. It works with no Google services installed at all.

How is that different from Gmail’s or Outlook’s AI?

Those features send your messages to a data centre to be processed, and the most capable ones sit behind a subscription too. Mailie Mind runs on the phone in your hand and answers from your real mail with a citation on each line, so you can check it rather than trust it. Similar idea of a subscription; a completely different idea of where your mail goes.

Can the AI make things up?

It is constrained so that it is very hard to. Every fact in a generated summary — dates, amounts, names, links — must appear literally in the source message, and the whole summary is additionally checked for staying on topic. Anything failing either check is replaced by an extractive summary that can only quote what is already in the mail. The app also says plainly that generated text is a draft to check, not advice to act on.

What protocols and providers does it support?

Four protocols: JMAP (RFC 8620 / 8621), IMAP with IDLE, POP3, and Microsoft’s modern mail API for personal Outlook.com accounts, which ship with IMAP switched off. Every connection is implicit TLS 1.3 with certificate pinning; cleartext and STARTTLS are refused because no code path for them exists. Google and Microsoft sign in with OAuth 2.0 and PKCE; providers such as Fastmail, iCloud, Yahoo, Zoho and Yandex use an app password.

Is my data encrypted?

Yes. The local cache is a SQLCipher (AES-256) encrypted database, keys are hardware-backed by the Android keystore, and you can send OpenPGP or S/MIME end-to-end encrypted mail on any protocol. Backups use AES-256-GCM under a PBKDF2-HMAC-SHA256 key derived from a passphrase that never leaves the device.

Does it encrypt DNS lookups too?

Yes. Mail servers are resolved over DNS-over-HTTPS with a fail-closed policy, so which servers you use cannot be observed or spoofed on the network. If an encrypted resolver cannot be reached the connection is refused rather than falling back to plaintext DNS.

Does it work on a de-Googled phone?

Yes. The language model, the semantic index and text recognition all run in the app’s own process with no Play services dependency. Push works over IMAP IDLE, JMAP, or UnifiedPush with your own distributor. The one feature that genuinely needs Play services — document scanning — is hidden rather than left as a dead button. Subscriptions are handled by Google Play, so a device without it keeps the free tier.

How big are the downloads?

The app itself is a normal Play download. Mailie Mind then fetches its models once, over TLS 1.3, from our own model host: a language model of roughly half a gigabyte to two gigabytes depending on the size you pick, and a 300-million-parameter multilingual embedding model of about 330 MB. Each file is verified against a SHA-256 digest, the download resumes if interrupted, and the request carries nothing that identifies you.

Does it collect any analytics?

None. There is no telemetry, no analytics SDK and no tracking of any kind in the app, on the free tier or on a subscription.

Where can I get it?

Mailie Pro is available exclusively on Google Play. It is free to download, with every feature unlocked for your first 7 days.
